Salerno, Peninsula of Sorrento, Amalfi Coast and plain of Sele
For those who do not know them, the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast (UNESCO World Heritage Site) are one of the main tourist destinations in Campania and attract thousands of tourists every year.
Characterized by rocky coasts and crystal clear waters, they divide the same spur of rock, dominated by the Lattari mountains, and are separated from the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella, from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the island of Capri. Villages of incomparable beauty, such as Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, dot the coast ready to welcome, now with picturesque views and centuries-old traditions now with refined restaurants and luxury hotels, the most disparate traveler. In fact, whether you are looking for the relaxation of hidden coves or the social life of elegant city streets, this little glimpse of paradise will not disappoint your expectations. If, in addition to the sea, you like to go hiking in the open air, do not miss, among others, the Path of the Gods that connects Agerola to Positano offering the visitor a panorama that will be difficult to forget. And, again, culture with the Ravello Festival, quality craftsmanship with the ceramics of Vietri sul Mare and excellent food and wine with the anchovy sauce of Cetara and limoncello with lemons of Amalfi.
Guarding the coast, to the south, you meet Salerno, a city characterized by a lively historic center, in which there are points of interest such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Arechi Castle. In addition, Salerno is the theater, during the winter holidays, of the famous event Luci d’Artista that gives a special charm to the streets of the center and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Finally, continuing south, extends the plain of Sele characterized by wide beaches and shallow waters, ideal for families. The territory is also home to the Archaeological Site of Paestum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Battipaglia, famous for the production of DOP buffalo mozzarella.
