The Carnival of Saviano , now in its 45th edition , is one of the most anticipated events in Campania, attracting around one hundred thousand visitors each year . Born in 1979 with the creation of the first allegorical float dedicated to Masaniello , the Neapolitan revolutionary of the seventeenth century, this event has become a symbol of identity and pride for the local community that involves artisans, artists and citizens in the creation, for months, of spectacular floats. Each float tells a story, often linked to popular culture or current issues , with a mastery that leaves you breathless.
The event is spread over several weekends , culminating on Shrove Tuesday , which marks the beginning of Lent. The 2025 program promises unique emotions , starting with the presentation of the floats on February 23 on Corso Italia, an opportunity to admire the details of the works up close. The main parades will be held on March 2 and 4 along the circuit set up in the historic center, accompanied by music, dancing and shows that liven up the days of celebration. There is no shortage of side events, such as workshops for children, tastings of typical products and theatrical performances , which make the Saviano Carnival a complete experience for the whole family .
A mix of tradition, art and joy that continues to grow, enhancing local talent and providing moments of sharing and joy. An event not to be missed for those who want to immerse themselves in the culture of Campania and experience an authentic and unforgettable Carnival .
